Global Fund Recognises Digital Solutions in Malaria Campaign
.
A team of representatives from the Global Fund, Ministry
of Health, National Treasury, and KEMSA visited Kipkelion Sub County Hospital
Post today to assess the current progress of the last-mile Long-Lasting
Insecticide Nets (LLIN) distribution in Kericho County.
During the visit, Lisa Butler, the Global Fund team lead,
lauded Kenya for its exceptional performance as a leader in sub-Saharan Africa
in implementing a successful digital malaria campaign.
The collaboration among these key stakeholders underscores
their commitment to advancing malaria prevention efforts in the region,
ensuring that all communities have access to LLINs as part of the ongoing fight
against malaria.
KEMSA successfully distributed 15.3 million treated
mosquito nets across 22 counties, reaching over 5 million households in
malaria-endemic regions.
By deploying automated, intelligent distribution systems,
KEMSA enhanced the accuracy, efficiency and timeliness of net deliveries,
ensuring that vulnerable communities received essential malaria prevention
tools.
These initiatives underscore the Government’s ongoing
commitment to integrating advanced technological systems that enhance the
end-to-end visibility of all health products, strengthening accountability
and transparency throughout the supply chain.
