KEMSA CEO Dr. Waqo Ejersa highlighted the importance of enhancing revenue collection streams to strengthen the organization’s financial position, ensuring timely procurement, supplier payments, and restocking. He made this statement during a workshop organized by the Sales, Marketing, and Supplementary Service Division.
Dr. Waqo urged the sales team to improve their business acumen and address financial challenges by optimizing the cash conversion cycle with each sale, thereby improving KEMSA’s cash flow.
He also underscored that KEMSA operates on a self-sustaining, Not-for-profit business model, where counties are responsible for ordering and paying for their medical supplies. To sustain this revolving fund, the sales team plays a vital role in ensuring smooth and efficient processes.
Additionally, Dr. Waqo encouraged the team to provide accurate information and feedback to KEMSA's customers, which would help build stronger business relationships and enhance service delivery.
