A Step Closer to Achieving Affordable, Reliable, Efficient, Patient-Centred Oncology Supply Chain.

A team from KEMSA led by Eliud Muriithi - Commercial Director, held a high- level meeting with officials from the Ministry of Health and Max Foundation at Embakasi Supply Chain Centre. The focus was on the critical optimization of stock management for oncology products, tackling pressing challenges within the supply chain, including stock forecasting discrepancies, complex regulatory barriers and following up on pending payments for warehousing and distribution services.

The team made significant strides, agreeing on a robust plan to enhance procurement planning, integrate cutting-edge digital inventory tracking systems, and strengthen coordination among stakeholders. These key resolutions are designed to ensure uninterrupted access to oncology medicines for patients, regardless of any challenge along the supply chain.

The Ministry of Health, represented by Dr. Joyfrida Chepchumba - Programs officer NCCP, re-affirmed its commitment to streamlining regulatory processes, while Max Foundation, led by Ms. Lucy Mwangi- Head of East Africa pledged its unwavering support in capacity building and resource mobilization to further this cause. 

This partnership marks a significant milestone in strengthening Kenya’s oncology supply chain, ensuring uninterrupted access to essential medicines.
