KEMSA Puts Performance on the Clock
04/09/2026
As KEMSA’s FY 2025/26 Annual Performance Retreat closes, the focus shifts from what was achieved to what comes next: delivery.
The new operational agenda is clear—greater efficiency, stronger accountability and measurable improvements in service delivery, anchored on two priorities: improving Order Fill Rate and reducing Delivery Lead Times.
Behind these metrics is a simple reality: a complete order means a health facility has what it needs, while faster delivery means patients spend less time waiting for essential treatment.
CEO Dr. Waqo Ejersa challenged teams to confront performance with data, address bottlenecks and turn retreat resolutions into measurable results. Technology will strengthen this drive through better visibility of demand, inventory and commodity movement, enabling smarter forecasting and faster decisions.
The Accountability Tracker now puts delivery on the clock, assigning every commitment a responsible officer, accountable office, expected outcome and timeline.
Ultimately, the numbers matter because people do. Across more than 10,000 health facilities, stronger supply chain performance means fewer stock interruptions, faster access to treatment and health workers better equipped to keep care moving.
As Dr. Ejersa puts it, “KEMSA does not announce profits but the number of lives transformed.”
The review is over. The clock is running. The next measure is impact.
